A PPE Transmission Fluid Bypass Valve will add another measure of protection and increase fluid flow to transmission cooler increasing cooling capacity with the easy-to-install billet aluminum PPE Transmission Fluid Thermal Bypass Valve for your Dodge or Jeep SUV’s.

The OEM part has restrictive internal passages. When the OEM valve fails in the closed position, transmission fluid does not reach your cooler. This can be caused by mechanical failure or debris. The result of stock valve failure can cause the transmission to dangerously overheat. Without properly cooled transmission fluid, the demands of towing and rigorous stop-and-go driving conditions shorten the life of transmission components. The PPE Bypass Valve eliminates the extremely restrictive mechanical factory valve which maximizes fluid flow from the transmission cooler.

For further protection, a Neodymium magnet equipped service plug has been added. The removable plug traps ferrous debris and can be accessed to remove particles from the system. The factory bypass valve does not have this feature.

Transmission in my 2016 silverado burned up and had to replace it and even the new one I noticed temps around 200° so after seeing recommendations for this bypass I tried it out, on a 90 degree day im seeing Temps around 180 so definitely helped will probably upgrade the cooler itself as well

Much cooler temps

I’m in Houston Texas, couple trips to the coast I was seeing temps of 215 in my 2019 silverado 1500 with the 8L90. After install, on very hot days the hottest temps I’ve seen in traffic are around 174. But not uncommon to cruise out to San Antonio and see 145-150 degrees the whole way out.

Perfection

Put it on my 2016 gmc sierra. I built the motor a couple years ago and have a 3200 stall converter and my trans would stay hot. Normal days she was around 200-210. Put this in and it stays around 152 while driving and 158 idling. Super easy install and highly recommend. Quality on it is outstanding, couldn’t be anymore satisfied with this product.

Works great. Transmission runs cooler. I highly recommend PPE not only for their parts but for their service.
I first reviewed this at a 3 because I thought the service plug was a drain plug. And when installed the plug was on top. Within 30-45 minutes of the review and before I could call PPE a representative called to resolve my issue. I will definitely be using PPE in the future.

Works Perfectly on a 2019 Suburban

Excellent addition to my 2019 suburban with a 5.3 and 6L80. Quick, painless install, probably only took me 15 mins and could have been quicker but I decided to remove the front driveshaft at the yoke to make it easier to see what I was doing. Temps are probably 30* colder while towing in the Colorado mountains, 165 degrees or less while dragging our RZR around. I decided to install this before the OEM thermostat gave us any problems and I'm very glad I did, it's a confidence boost seeing temps this low while really running it in the mountains in the summer. Excellent product.
