Finally installed my ppe cooler for my 2019 5.3 silverado.

I have stg2 btr cam dod delete. Transmission has 2600-2800stall converter with performance gears and clutches and shift kit. All tuned and needed a cooler.

VISIUAL I was realived when i opened the box. Im a welder and the welds were nice on the headers could use some work around the tabs and fittings but BEAUTIFUL POWDER COAT or paint. That grey is kickass cleean.

INSTALL a walk in the park. Fitment was bitchen. Took me longer to find my tools i needed than to do the swap.

Looks beefy and clean through the grill. glad i got this cooler over mishimoto.

It's Really Cool

When paired with the PPE pan and thermal bypass valve delete, this transmission cooler is almost too good. The 10L80 in my 2024 3.0L Duramax Sierra now runs between 120-130 degrees F when not towing. Some would argue that is too cool, but I'd rather have that than the ~200 degrees F that it used to consistently run at. As with other PPE products I have used, fit and finish is perfect and certainly better than OEM quality. Overall, I am very pleased.

Amazing Upgrade

This thing is amazing! Installed it on my 2025 3.0l Duramax Sierra before towing my 7000lb travel trailer from Canada through Washington, Oregon and California doing 65mph down the I5 and the transmission temperature sat at 192 F consistently and only reached, 201F in the mountains but it cooled back to 192 fast. My transmission temp regularly reached 225F when towing my trailer back from my storage. Best purchase so for the truck.

Ok if you are on the fence like I was in hope this review helps you. I have a 2019 silverado 6.3l with the 8 speed transmission. We tow a 6800 # camper very regularly. I added the PPE bypass block hoping just that would lower my transmission temps. While it did lower them it was only by 10 degrees or so. I was on the fence on putting this in I wasn't sure it would help all that much. Well in August of 2024 we towed our Jayfeather 26Ral from Central NY to Flagstaff AZ and back. On the trip out my temps stayed between 185 and 210. I wasn't very happy over 200. On the way back before even getting to NM I was over 200. By the time I got to NM I was at 250! Needless to say I bought this and installed it in May 2025. We took our first trip in June. The outside air temp was 85. We towed for 1.5 hours between 70 mph on the hiway and secondary road speeds/traffic. I never got above 150 it started about 138 to 140. I'm super happy with that.

Awesome Transmission Cooler

I hadn’t written a review until now as I hadn’t towed anything with my truck, a 2022 Sierra 1500 Limited with the 6.2. Before adding the cooler, my temps would get around 170* in the summer. With it installed, my trans temps never go above 147* F whether I’m on the interstate or around town. That’s usually when the shutters are closed and it drops back to 144* when they open-quickly too. I recently had to tow my mom’s 72 Chevelle back from the other side of South Carolina to begin restoring it and with the truck in tow mode, temps never went above the same 144-147* range I’d been seeing with the cooler under any condition thrown at the truck. My mileage knew the car and trailer were back there, but the transmission didn’t. Thoroughly pleased with this cooler and can’t wait to install the deep trans pan at 45k miles when I do the fluid and filter swap.
