6.6L Duramax Performance Transmission Cooler
Excess heat is the #1 killer of transmissions. For individuals who tow, race or simply run their diesel hard, proper cooling of your transmission fluid is one of the most important things that you can do to increase the life of your transmission. When the mainline pressure is increased with upgrades such as a high-performance transmission kit, your transmission generates additional heat. A PPE 6.6L Duramax Performance Transmission Cooler is critical in such situations.
PPE’s Performance Transmission Cooler is a direct bolt-on replacement part that lowers the fluid temperatures up to an additional 20 to 30 degrees over the stock unit and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
Note: 2001-2005 Allison 1000/2000 Duramax/Gas Engines.
Before removing the factory transmission cooler from your truck check the color of the clips in the fittings that connect the transmission cooler to the cooler lines.
Use PPE part number (124060000) for 2001-2003 Cooler - connectors with Orange Clips.
Use PPE part number (124060300) for 2003-2005 Cooler - connectors with Purple Clips.

Install was quick and simple. Fitment and quality of parts is awesome. Temps down about 20-30 degrees when towing 12k+

Love the design and setup. Dropped temps. Couldn’t be happier!

The fitment to the vehicle mounts was excellent thanks to the pivoting arms of the lower 2 piece mount set up that came along in the cooler kit. The trucks aluminum cooling lines needed a little bending to get proper insertion alignment into the cooler itself but it was not an issue for a shade tree mechanic. Trans fluid temps dropped 25 to 30 degrees depending on the speed and type of driving. Nicely done PPE.
