Heavy-Duty Cast Aluminum Transmission Pan

Excessive heat kills transmission life. As temperature rises, transmission fluid viscosity decreases, weakening the lubricating film that protects gears, bearings, and transmission internals. This can lead to premature wear and potential failure.

Cast from high-grade A356.0-T6 aluminum alloy, the PPE transmission pan offers 4 quarts of additional fluid capacity for improved cooler transmission fluid management, helping support long-lasting heat control and performance.

The deep external cooling fins maximize the heat-wicking surface area, effectively dissipating heat to keep your transmission cool under pressure. These fins also add strength to the bottom of the pan and enhance impact resistance.

The built-in baffles at the bottom of the pan increase contact between the fluid and the cast-aluminum surfaces, enhancing heat transfer. These baffles also reduce fluid sloshing, ensuring consistent fluid pickup and stable transmission performance. Great product and easy install

Bought the entire setup for my 10L80 on the LZ0 Duramax and I couldn’t be happier. It was an easy install and a quality product. The transmission held at 196 prior to the upgrades no matter the kind of driving I did. Now it doesn’t go above 145 even while towing. I’m sure these upgrades will help the failure prone 10L80 last far longer than it would with the stock set up.

2025 GMC Sierra

Installed the Transmission Fluid Thermal Bypass Valve and PPE Transmission Pan. Transmission temp used to be 195 to 205 degrees F. I drove 200 miles along the Gulf Coast on a 95 degree day and the hottest it got was165. Big difference!

FOURTY Degrees Cooler!

My 23' Silverado 1500 Duramax (LZ0) was creeping up on 50,000 miles and I wasn't happy at the transmission temps when towing our 29ft camper. I was seeing a range of 190F-215F and, once heat soaked, very slow cooling from these numbers. I decided to do the PPE transmission 'trifecta' and replace the pan, cooler, and bypass valve all at once. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! My transmission temp never got above 180F during the longest, uphill sections of towing a fully loaded camper, 3 adults, and 2 dogs. The average temperature was almost exactly 160F. And what I really was surprised at was once I went through a long uphill section of highway, sometimes getting slowed by traffic and then having to accelerate back to highway speed (or greater) while still going uphill, the temperature quickly starts cooling once you are leveled out. The stock components seemed to get heat soaked and take forever to show any cooling at all. Not with the PPE components! Its really great to see that trans temp start to fall off as soon as you unload the engine. If you are headed downhill it wants to dive back down to 160F again. What a difference! PPE is doing what GM should have done with stock components. Next up, will be the air/water intercooler and deep dish oil pan. I hope PPE keeps developing fixes for the Babymax!

love the extra capacity

if you are buying this pan solely for the purpose of reducing temperature, you may want to go look at the thermostat bypass valve instead, but if you are looking for increased capacity, easier drains, and the opportunity to laugh at your friends who run the stock transmission pan, then $300 is well worth it.

seriously though, it does take significantly longer to get up to full operating temp of 195-200 degrees, but it still does get there. i haven't had the opportunity to go on any really long drives yet to see where the temps sit over say 300 miles of driving, but i like knowing i have the extra 4 quarts.

Massive upgrade over OEM! 2021 gmc sierra LM2

Not only is it bigger and stronger it is also easier to perform maintenance. I installed the pan along with the thermal bypass and the transmission cooler. Overall, it added 5 more quarts of transmission fluid! The drain plug will make future maintenance quick and easy. After the install with all 3 parts, I am running temps between 120-140 degrees. Thats a massive drop from stock setup. With the extra fluid and lower temps, this will help keep the transmission running smoothly for a longer period of time.
