Heavy-Duty Cast Aluminum Rear Differential Cover
Excessive heat can degrade the protective qualities of differential fluid, leading to accelerated wear of gears and bearings. In limited-slip differentials, constant high temperatures can break down clutch packs and friction modifiers, resulting in reduced efficiency and compromised traction control.
Cast from high-grade A356.0-T6 aluminum alloy, the PPE differential cover adds .6 quart of fluid capacity and features half-inch external cooling fins for long-lasting heat management and performance.
Built-in windage scrapers inside the PPE cover ensure precise fluid distribution around the gears. By reducing excessive fluid churning, these scrapers lower heat buildup and minimize parasitic loss, promoting more efficient power transfer. Together with the vertical external fins, they form a strong cross-bracing structure that improves load distribution and enhances impact resistance.
The fill plug is precisely positioned at the factory level. Both the fill and drain plugs feature a powerful, high-temperature-rated neodymium magnet that captures ferrous particles for added protection.

I wanted to change the rear diff gear lube in my new 2025 ZR2 Silverado 3.0 LZ0 DuraMax at 1,277 miles + be able to perform additional rear diff services in the future with much more ease over having to deal with the OEM steel cover that features zero drain plug, requiring removal of the cover upon each service.
The PPE diff cover not only looks very cool…. provides lower running temps of the gear lube…… has two super strong neodinium magnets to catch ferrous metal particulates within the gear lube…… and will make for very easy drain of gear lube + super easy fill of gear lube upon future service intervals.
I did remove my spare tire and stamped aluminum tire shroud to gain clear access to the diff cover for initial install.
I marked the new, wider, forward facing opening in the shroud……. and easily cut the material on a large table-top band saw.
This modification provides a full width opening at the face of the tire shroud as to insure that there will be zero contact of the OEM shroud and the face of the beautiful PPE diff cover.
This wide opening will now allow for easy drain and fill of gear lube……. totally unobstructed…….. with no reason to remove the shroud at future diff services.

Why Chevrolet doesn’t have a bleeder **** from the factory blows my mind. I tow frequently for my Veterans of Georgia non-profit and always change my fluids and this cover in black not only looks amazing on the truck, but makes it convenient to service. Holds about 3.5 quarts of 75w90 on level ground. Installed in no time. I highly recommend dropping your spare tire and heat shield. Instructions are on point as well. Yes you can use your factory gasket again. Now I can tow comfortably knowing that PPE has my back. Semper Fi.

All I can tell, is that the PPE Rear Differential Cover for my 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500LT is very nice and fit perfectly, so far.. I like the stainless steel plugs as it should be equipped with for this price. However, it appears like the manufacturer PPE cut some corners when it comes to the bolts that were included for this particular part item, which is obsolete not a good idea since each and every one of these numerous Differential Covers that I purchased in the past for my previous trucks had all the bolts made out of Stainless Steel. Other than that everything seems to be fine. I just installed my cover yesterday after more than 2 months of purchase.
