Boost your transmission performance with this PPE Bar and Plate Transmission Fluid Cooler. A bigger effective cooling area and thicker core enable the PPE cooler to draw 200% more heat from your transmission fluid compared to the factory cooler.  We observed up to 45°F temperature drop with a PPE cooler installed under the same operating conditions.

The PPE Bar and Plate Transmission Cooler are made of high-quality aluminum, with specially engineered fin construction to maximize cooling efficiency while maintaining pressure drop as low as possible. It is a direct replacement with no modification or additional parts needed. Reuse factory cooler hardware for installation.

For maximum transmission oil temperature reduction, PPE recommends using this cooler in conjunction with the PPE Thermostat Bypass Valve Part# 125069000.

Awesome Transmission Cooler

I hadn’t written a review until now as I hadn’t towed anything with my truck, a 2022 Sierra 1500 Limited with the 6.2. Before adding the cooler, my temps would get around 170* in the summer. With it installed, my trans temps never go above 147* F whether I’m on the interstate or around town. That’s usually when the shutters are closed and it drops back to 144* when they open-quickly too. I recently had to tow my mom’s 72 Chevelle back from the other side of South Carolina to begin restoring it and with the truck in tow mode, temps never went above the same 144-147* range I’d been seeing with the cooler under any condition thrown at the truck. My mileage knew the car and trailer were back there, but the transmission didn’t. Thoroughly pleased with this cooler and can’t wait to install the deep trans pan at 45k miles when I do the fluid and filter swap.

I installed this on Saturday. It is so much larger than the stock one. It fit perfect and no problems with the installation. I plan on towing my boat this summer, so now my truck is ready.

Best Cooler I Have Owned

Bought PPE cooler because it was a direct replacement. Fit well but had to use some imagination getting one of the transmission lines to connect but got it. Has kept my transmission cooler by 40-50 degrees. If i ever buy another truck it will have a PPE transmission cooler in it for sure. Thanks PPE

Keep it cool

I tow with a GMC 1/2 ton with the 3 liter diesel. I first installed the PPE thermostat bypass. At that time I was shocked to find my transmission fluid very dark with a burned smell. I had a local garage do a fluid replacement with their BG machine. I then towed a 2013 Chevy Malibu to southern Arizona from Northeastern Oklahoma. A few times my transmission temp approached 200 degrees.
I decided to change the transmission cooler too. When the new PPE cooler arrived I was amazed by the difference between it and the OEM cooler. Literally everything about it was bigger, better and stronger.
It’s been installed now for 4 days. I haven’t towed but I’ve driven about 60 miles in combined city, highway travel. My transmission temp hasn’t gone above 140 degrees.
If I’d known what a piece of junk the OEM cooler was I would have made the switch as soon as I bought the truck.
I’m a 73 Y/O guy who is a bit too heavy. My combined time in installing the two parts is about 3.5 hours. 3 hours on the cooler.
